Public Viewing Session

The next public viewing session is scheduled for Friday, November 9th at 8:00PM (weather permitting).    We’ll post weather updates on Friday afternoon on Facebook or you can refresh this page.

The public viewing session for October 12th was canceled due to cloudy skies.

These viewing sessions are intended for visitors of all ages and are free of charge. SFA SPS students operate the telescope and show visitors stars, clusters, nebulae, double stars, and perhaps a planet.
Public viewing sessions are sponsored by the Society of Physics Students and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stephen F. Austin State University. For large groups please email astro@sfasu.edu in advance so that we can have additional help available.

There are also planetarium shows on many Friday nights an seen here: www.planetarium.sfasu.edu
